I invited Cristina Aznar, the "fairy hand" behind this magnific collection and the cool Fashion Blog www.mistylobycris.com, to a small interview!Here it goes:

1.Cristina,  cuando y por qué creaste tu  blog de moda?

When and why did you start your fashion blog?

R: Siempre me ha gustado leer blogs de todo tipo;  moda,belleza,cocina,viajes...y hace dos años decidí crear el mío. En Mistylobycris hablo de todo, no sólo de moda. En él puedes encontrar recomendaciones de belleza, recetas de cocina, viajes,decoración...Mi estilo de vida y mis gustos en general!

A:I always liked to read blogs of all the kind: Fashion,Beauty,Cooking,Traveling etc.so, two years ago, i decided to create my own blog!
In Mistylobycris  i make post about everything,not only fashion!There you can find recommendations/suggestions about beauty,cooking,traveling,decoration,..my lifestyle and all the things i like in general!

2.Que te inspira?

What inspire you?

R: Me inspiran muchas cosas, sobretodo las revistas de moda. Todos los meses compro 3 o 4 , las miro y remiro y recorto fotos que me inspiran para crear mis looks. También me inpiran muchos blogs o incluso la inspiración sale por mi misma. Hay días que me levanto inspirada sin más ;)

A:Many things inspire me,but mainly fashion magazines.Every month i buy about 3 or 4,i look at them,read and re-read them and collect images that inspire me to create my own looks.Blogs are also  a great source of inspiration,But, Iinspiration sometimes also comes by itself!I always wake up pretty inspired!;)

3.También tines una linea de acessorios, muy colorida e ethnica,Los Caprichos de Estilo, quando  y por qué  empezaste a hacer esses belos collares y turbantes tan originales (que “el gato orgânico” es un grande fan)?

Beside  the fashion blog you also hold a line of beautiful &original ethnic acessories,Caprichos de Estilo, when and why did you start doing your own fashion acessories ?

R: Si, hace sólo dos meses decidí crear mi propia línea de accesorios. Llevo muy poquito y está funcionando de maravilla. Siempre me ha gustado crear mis propios complementos y un día mostré uno de mis collares en el blog y gustó tanto que decidí venderlos. Son perfectos para alegrar la vida!

A:I started my own acessories line only two months ago. The pieces are quite cheap and its going wonderfully!I always enjoyed to create my own acessories.One day i posted some images of my handmade necklaces and it was such a success that i decided to start seeling them!They are perfect to cheer up your life!

4.Frida Khalo es una inspiración muy clara para tu linea,que mas te inpira par tu creaciones?

It ´s quite clear that Frida Khalo is a great inspiration for your line, what else inpire you to create your pieces?

R: Frida Khalo, para mi es siempre una inspiración, muchas de mis creaciones las hago pensando en ella. Pero siempre me ha encantado todo lo hippy,colorido,alegre,divertido y creo que mis diseños reflejan claramente todo eso. El estilo étnico me gusta mucho y si además un accesorio puede transmitir alegría y originalidad  creo que es perfecto.

A:Frida Khalo has always been an inspiration for me, i design many of my creations thinking of her.But, i also always have been a lover of the Hippy/Boho, colorful, funny style.

I think that my pieces reflect this inspirations quite well!Small acessories can easily spice up the whole figure!

5.Y finalmente, tienes algunos secretos de beleza que nos quieras compartir?;)

And finally,do you have any beauty secret you want to reveal to  us?;)

R: Secretos de belleza no tengo muchos!;) Sigo una rutina desde hace tiempo: Siempre limpio e hidrato la cara por la mañana y por la noche ( mis marcas Germanine de Capuccini y kiehl`s) Bebo mucha agua , no tomo leche y siempre riego las comidas con germen de trigo, lecitina de soja o semillas de lino. 

En cuanto pruebe los cosméticos de ” El Gato orgánico” os cuento !;)

A:Beauty secrets i haven´t much!;) but i keep the following daily beauty routine: i always wash my face and moisturize my skin every morning& night (my favorite brands are Germaine de Capucci and Kiehl´s).I always drink a lot of water,i dont drink milk and eat a lot of food with Wheat Germ, Soya Lecthin and Flax Seeds.

Argan Oil (rancid...)

Just like the past five years (it´s already tradition...)last weekend i went to the Fil Feira Internacional de Artesanato-Lisboa, a very popular Arts&Crafts International fair held in Lisbon every year.
So,this year i bought an amazing dress from an Indian seller...

...an African phone pouch...

...and finally,a rancid Argan Oil bottle bought to a North African seller!As all the bottles were sealed i wasn´t able to try them before buying it...It has a smokey smell and it is definitely rancid, good&fresh Argan Oil should smell nutty and not like this one :(

But, iam the "nutty" one!Even smelly,i tried it on my face (yes,blergh!),BUT,amazingly, even rancid,it left my skin super smooth,super moisturized and it was immediately absorved by the skin, just as a fresh Argan Oil would!

I mixed it with my favorite parfum oil essence (to prevent me from fainting when iam having it on my face...) and im quite happy with it now.

I don´t advise you to do the same, but as for me, for this one, ill go rancid! :D

This oil (extracted from the fruit of Morocco's argan tree)  is well know for its its endless hydrating and healing properties.does not clog pores and helps minimize fine lines,Argan oil can also help people with mild acne as the oleic acid found in the oil helps promote healthy levels of sebum production, and its linoleic acid helps prevent excess dead skin cells by promoting healthy skin turnover.

Its extraction,by traditional methods is a very  thought process that envolve the folowing steps:

1.the women harvest the nuts from the argan trees, which grow only in southwestern Morocco. Apparently, Moroccan goats are great at climbing trees, i saw one but no one believed me...they are super cute, actually one of my fav animal :)

 2.The women let the nuts dry. When they pick them, they look like green olives,To make a liter of oil, you need 88 pounds of fruit!

3, Once the nuts are dry, the women use two stones to break apart the dried flesh of the nut, and then to break away the hull. Its hard work!

4.They squeeze the paste by hand to extract the oil. The oil is bottled and the remaining solid stuff left from squeezing is fed to the goats as a special treat (one of the women said it was the animal's version of chocolate).

However, the oil used in cosmetic and culinary products available for sale today has most likely been harvested directly from the tree and processed with machines.

Ive been twice in Morocco, but unfortunately did´t had the possibility to watch the Argan Oil production process http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfnc1ySS4D4 (i was more busy getting lost in the Medinas looking for their super cool-colorful local Drug Stores!) but, Its on my TO DO list.
